Weapons are the tools survivors uses to combat the zombie hordes. A wide variety of melee weapons, firearms and bows are available. Plans for weapons include military grade weaponry, thrown weapons and weapon crafting.

Melee weapons are available in two basic types: sharp and blunt. A sharp weapon cuts flesh and muscle, tearing zombies apart. A blunt weapon can shatter bones and crush parts of the body, instead. The great advantages of melee weapons are that they are not very loud, do not require much precision to do their damage, and do not consume ammunition. Their flaw is that their use requires letting zombies get close.

Bows[ | ]

Bows are stealth long distance weapons. Like firearms they require ammo (arrows), but future plans include having shot arrows recoverable. Firing a bow requires you to hold down the fire key to charge it. The longer the charge is held the further the arrow will fly.

Firearms[ | ]

Main article: Firearms
Firearms are the strongest weapons in a survivor's arsenal. They are also the most flexible: a hunting shotgun is devastating at close range, a pistol performs well at moderate range, and a hunting rifle can be used to kill anything from afar. Some firearms must be reloaded after each shot, semi-automatics fire one shot per pull of the trigger, and fully automatic weapons can fire until they run out of ammunition. While firearms are very powerful in the right hands, they are loud and can run out of ammunition. Fully automatic weapons suffer in accuracy, and rifles are difficult to handle at close range. A different gun is appropriate for each situation.
